Brief of 1st ever Marwari Film

DISCRIPTION:

The Marwari community, as is well known, is spread all over the country and abroad. With the influence of various admixing cultures and languages, particularly Hindi, a new face of Marwari language has emerged. This new spoken language that has evolved has a difference in both the vocabulary as well as the prosody when compared to the classical variants of Marwari language spoken in various parts of Rajesthan. The differences are so marked that, at times, it becomes difficult for the migrated Marwaries to understand or relate to the Marwari Films which are made and released from Rajesthan. This is probably the reason why Marwari movies do not fare well outside the State. Keeping all these facts mentioned above in view, SKAV with co-producer Mr. Pramod Dalmia (who is carryout business in the name & style “SIKKIM MOTORS”) pursuing a novel project of making a full length film in this new “evolved” spoken Marwari language (Marwari language influenced by Hindi) which, we hope, will be acceptable to all marwari speaking people and hence, will be a commercial success both in and outside the Nation. We, in the first stage, are planning to market and organize premier shows in various cities and towns of India. Subsequently we are planning to spread internationally. So, it is obvious that more the movie catches market, so will your product.

Brief description of movie:

It's a full length commercial movie with 7 songs, the story based on family drama and the movie will project the lifestyle of those Marwari families residing in towns and cities. The movie will also depict in detail, various rituals carried out during various cultural events in Marwari communities, without interfering or impeding the flow of the movie,

which will be educative for the younger generation eager to know ones own culture better. The shooting will commence from MAY 08 and we are confident of releasing the movie by OCT. 2008.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN FILM & VIDEO: Till date Rakesh Somani, Proprietor of S.K. Audio Vision has produced, directed and edited more than 18 video albums, documentary films, and commercial advertisement and has worked as a cinematographer and editor for three full length digital film projects. In addition, he has produced, directed and edited many documentary films in this region which had been popular and well acclaimed by the local population. Now, Rakesh Somani has been working in the final stages of filming a documentary covering places of tourist interests in entire North Bengal and Sikkim . It would be a one of a kind project to be carried out in the region, never been attempted before. Rakesh Somani is first person in Sikkim who introduced videography in sikkim in the year 1988. He is the one who introduced 1 st video editing system and video photography here in sikkim
